Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer hailing from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She dropped her debut EP on the label on October 21st of 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music to the Internet in 2012, when she released her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she dropped more music via the Internet including Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time would like to see her create Rihanna references. On December 8 it was revealed that she was signed to Dreamville Records. In the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was featured as a guest on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July, 2018. A music video then released in September. In November, she released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album the same name. The music video debuted on the 20th February of 2019 to accompany the track. Within a week, it had over 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
